The "Doohickey" Cheeseball

This recipe originated because I am not fan of nuts and most cheese balls have nuts in them or covering them. So, I created this cheese ball that many people seem to enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 2 (8 oz.) pkgs. of cream cheese
  • 2 spring onions (entire onion chopped)
  • 1 can medium shrimp
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or colby cheese
  • 1 tsp. of Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 tsp. of seasoning salt
  • 1 pkg. of crackers (I prefer Toasteds Crackers)
  • sprig of fresh parsley

Directions:

Soften cream cheese then add can of shrimp, chopped spring onions, Old Bay, Seasoning Salt, and 1/2 cup of cheese. Mix all ingredients together and form into the shape of a ball.

Take the remaining shredded cheese, spread onto a plate, and roll the ball onto the cheese until it is thoroughly covered. Garnish with parsley.

Place cheese ball on plate, cover tightly, refrigerate overnight. Serve with crackers or stuff in celery.
