Apple Crisp Pudding

This is not your typical Apple Crisp recipe. There are no oats or brown sugar. Just pure, simple, deliciousness. This recipe has been handed down through the generations in my family.

Ingredients:

  • About 8 small apples, peeled, cored and sliced (McIntosh recommended)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9x9 baking pan. Add the apple slices to the pan. In a bowl, combine the water with the cinnamon, pour the mixture over the apples. In a small bowl using pastry cutter or finger tips, combine sugar, flour and butter together until it's crumbly.

Sprinkle crumbs on top of apples and bake 30-40 minutes, or until pudding is light brown in color.
