I'm having bobbin problems too. The thread catches and goes through smoothly, but once I go to sew, the top thread doesn't take to the fabric and the bobbin thread just starts tangling up within a few sews. I look under the fabric and there's this humongous thread mess. It wastes so much bobbin thread. I have no idea what's wrong, I've never ever had this problem before. Help! E-mail me: AlibabaA9 AT aol.com Thank you SO much!

Brothers embroidery machine why does the bobbin area of this machine tangle up after it had been working so well for so long now I can't seem to finish my project. What can i do? It tangles up in a ball of thread until it just stop sewing and you have to take the bobbin area apart to and cut off the tangled thread.?

RE: Bobbin Problems
Because you say it is a new machine, it might be time to give it a good oiling. It sounds like you are using it a lot. Are you talking about how the bobbin is filled by the machine? Susan from ThriftyFun

RE: Bobbin Problems
Is your machine an old one? Most machines over the last several years have some sort of lever next to the post that holds the empty bobin. Once you have fed the thread according to your instruction manual then around the bobbin, you must push that lever toward the bobbin, hold the thread until the bobbin starts to wind, then let go and let the machine do the job. On older machines you also have to disengage the hand wheel( so the needle won't go up and down while you are filling the bobbin)I hope I have been of help to you One more hint;make sure your thread isn't old or the cheap kind. Buy brand name threads only !! bjptl.

RE: Bobbin Problems
You may be right her. I think I have held it to tight so it won't slip out. Thanks

I was having this exact same problem! I found out I was pulling on the thread that you thread the hole (to hold it) to tightly. Once I let up on the tension of the little thread I have not experienced anymore problems.

RE: Bobbin Problems
Thanks I'll read the manual to see what spoon pin is. :) Thanks very much

RE: Bobbin Problems
It sounds like the thread is not being fed properly through all the hooks. Did you check your manual? There should be a hook or something that puts tension on the thread while it's coming off the spool and going onto the bobbin. By the way, you could always put the loose thread on the spool pin and put it, correctly, onto another bobbin. Good luck!
