Not necessarily a "thrifty" tip, but a time/trouble saving. If you're need a security code word or password you can use a phone number of a friend or family member that's ingrained in your long-term memory, along with their initials. If you're likely to need a reminder, simply tape their name, or relationship (i.e. "Grandma") near your puter. : )
