Which gauge electrical wire should I use for 220 volt 30 amp? It is about 35 feet from the switch box to the plug for the dryer?

I believe this is also called, "three-phase wiring", but regardless, you most definitely should NOT use standard wiring for homes. My friend did that and the house burned down because it caught the old wood around it on fire, had an old fuse box as well.
I'm sure you will use wisdom. God bless and keep you. : )

My husband agrees with the #10 wire, too, but adds that it specifically should be 10/3 SO ( apparently this is a heavier "jacket" for the 30 amp).

My husband says the smallest wire you should use is #10 on a 30 amp breaker or fuse.
