Great side dish, especially good with fried chicken!
Saute' onions in 2 tablespoons shortening or oil. Add chopped green pepper and saute' a little longer. In a heavy bottom saucepan, mix rice and hot water. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes, without a lid, then the last 10 minutes, cover with a lid and stir once.
