The early blooms of the daffodils in Mt Vernon, WA, are a harbinger of spring. They are grown for cut flowers and bulbs. A little later in the spring, the tulips start blooming. The Tulip Festival runs for the entire month of April and attracts about 400,000 visitors every year.
