Sunrise Scones

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Additional sugar for topping

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

Using pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in raisins, sour cream and milk.

Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface; roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Using 3 inch biscuit or cookie cutter, cut out desired shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Sprinkle with additional sugar.

Bake 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm.
