Biodegradable Cleaners

I am looking to buy but prefer to make some biodegradable cleaners. Can you help me with some brands or some recipes?

Thank you so much,
Laura from Norfolk, VA

In USA safe, much less biodegradable, cleaners are few and far
between. Many US cleaning products can kill or injure small children.
Since in the USA the FDA is in the pocket of the food and drug industry,
there are little or no labels notices of the toxic chemicals used on US
products. Many US products can't sell in Europe because European
labeling would require them to list the harm this product can do.
The air in US homes is several times more toxic inside than outside,
because of the use of toxic cleaning and bathing chemicals.

As someone who believes in simple living AND sound ecological choices, I just can't bring myself to shell out alot of money for "green products". Very simple, non-chemical cleaners are the only answer for my family.

I make my own laundry detergent, dish liquid, glass cleaners and floor cleaners. Even for those folks who aren't neccesarily "green", these are frugal, simple and cost effective household cleaners.

Thanks for the link, Ladybug...I'm always on the look out for new "green" recipes to try. :-)

the following can be used to clean almost any hard surface:
vinegar (diluted as needed)
borateem and water (see box for instructions)
peroxide in a spray bottle
alcohol in a spray bottle
soap and water in a spray bottle
baking soda and water in a spray bottle
baking soda or borateem or salt as a cleanser rub
vinegar for mineral deposits/showers and tubs
(white or brown vinegar works but white is usually a little cheaper)
