For a black and white semi formal dance use black lights. Try hand outs (have them buy cheap things provided by the school, like glow sticks, or just something that will make a statement in the black light.)

To make a gym "shrink" you might try taking up space with props, the DJ or the photos. You could set up a wall somehow to block off the dancing so it is like having two rooms

for anyone who needs ideas for dances, kids/teens find the 80's really cool now, so an 80's themed dance would be fun! I know i would love to go to one! for outfits girls can wear side ponys and everyone can wear metallics and bright colors. you can play a combination of 80's music and todays music because kids dont want to listen to stuff they dont know and is considered bad! hope this helps anyone

We take our lunch tables and block off half the gym and have a little doorway thing u enter into! then decorate the tables with big sheets of construction paper.
