I am looking for frugal ideas on how to make a wishing well for my daughter's baby shower. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

What to include with the invitation to inform the guess of the wishing well. Maybe a cute poem.

Any ideas on Wishing Well poem or wording for baby shower. Not sure how to word it if the parents are out of town and the shower is being held in a different state.

I found a cute white wicker hamper on Target and/or Wallmart's website ($30.00). If you somehow were creative enough you can take the lid that it comes with and place it above (using wrapping paper rolls or something?) and hang a little pale under the lid.

At my shower I used a toybox for the wishing well.

I went to Pottery Barn and bought a regular round basket. Then I went to Joann Fabrics and bought some thin pieces of wood for the rods and roof. I also bought a hot glue gun, finish nails, wood staining paint & fake ivy. Put it all together & it looks great!

How would you word it about the wishing well on the invite? I want to have it for my sister her shower will be in about 1 1/2 months we didn't do the invites yet. But I don't know how to word it. Can any one help me. I will prob forget about this site or lose the url. so if you can email me at gingonzalez AT yahoo.com and give me any ideas about it that would be great. But I get a lot of junk mail so please in the subject put 'wishing well' and I'll know its not junk mail. I'd appreciate all the help I can get. I've never done a shower before and I want it to be a great one for her. She's my only sister.

My friend gave me a wishing well for my third baby. She put some material inside a round laundry basket with gathers at the top and then a complimentary piece of fabric around the outside (just hanging from the top, not connected to the basket). It sounds complicated, but she didn't even sew it...just used a hot glue gun. It looks great! I have it sitting in my living room still. She had everybody that came to a shower bring an item (many picked up at $1 stores) and fill it with all sorts of baby necessities. It was a life saver! :)

I had bought a couple of those rolling Rubbermaid laundry baskets before I got married. My mom used them for "wishing wells" and made the theme cleaning products!
