Recipe Adjustments When Using a Smaller Sized Pan

If a recipe is for a 9 x 13 pan, how much would you scale down the ingredient amounts (and time and/or temperature) for an 8 x 8 pan?

I agree with PainterLee. You can cut a recipe so close sometimes that you arfe down to a half an egg and that doesn't work. Make the full recipe and then make two pans of it. You might also consider going to the local good will store or dollar store and geting another pan.

I would make it all according to the directions, pour enough in the 8x8 pan and then pour the rest in a loaf pan or cupcape/muffin tins. Then you can give some away as gifts for your neighbors or coworkers! :)

Well, just reduce the original recipe by half and bake for about the same amount of time the recipe already calls for. Just check five minutes before and five minutes after if need be. An 8x8 holds about 8 cups and a 9x13 holds about 14 cups.
