Get the Most out of Your Birthday Candles! |
Make sure the wicks are the minimum length needed to light the candle (longer wick=bigger flame=more melted wax on your cake). Shorter wicks also make it easier to blow the candles out--and who wants to sabotage a loved one's birthday wish? Shorter wicks also extend the life of your candles; yes, they are reusable!
After a use, wash them in warm dishwater to remove the frosting and cake bits. While still warm and pliable, roll them on the counter top to get them super straight again, then rinse in cold water and air dry. I then trim the singed part off and I'm ready for the next chorus of "Happy Birthday"!
