Brazilian Lemonade

Okay, this is called lemonade but limes are used instead? That's because true Brazilian lemons taste like limes. And, yes, creamy sweet milk makes this drink taste awesome! Any leftover sweetened condensed milk can be kept in a closed glass or plastic container in the refrigerator for about two weeks.

If the lemonade is a tad bit bitter for anyone, they can simply add more sugar to taste when served. Oh, and the flavor of this drink is perfect for adding some gin ;-)

Ingredients:

  • 3 limes, including rind, quartered
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 cups, plus 1 cup water
  • ice cubes
  • lime slices for garnish

Directions:

Place first three ingredients in a blender, add 4 cups cold water and blend on high speed until limes are slightly chopped.

Place a strainer on top of a pitcher and pour blender ingredients into the pitcher.

Slowly pour the remaining 1 cup water through the strainer over the lime pieces to help release all of the residual sugar and juice.

Place ice cubes in serving glasses, pour mixture over ice, garnish with a lime slice and serve.

Great drink recipe. I only have one additional thought... rum.
