Chicken With Butter
A dish that can be made for dinner that's tasty. It can be served with rice and roti or puri.
- 1 kg chicken breast or strips (approx. 2 lb.)
- 1 cup fresh cream
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tsp. masala
- 2 red chili
- 1/2 tsp. tumeric powder
- 1/2 tsp. jeera* powder
- 1/2 tsp. coriander powder
- 125 gram tomato puree (approx. 1/2 cup)
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. garlic
- 1 tsp. fine salt
- 125 gram butter (approx. 1/2 cup)
*Jeera powder is better known as cumin in the U.S.
Remove skin from chicken. Rinse the chicken. Cube or use the breast whole. Marinate all the ingredients except the butter. Cover and leave aside for 20-30 minutes or prepare in advance and leave in the fridge until you are ready to cook.
Heat butter in a heavy based pan, add chicken and cook for +/- 30 minutes or until done. Serve with rice, roti, puri, garlic rolls or roasted veggies.
