Funnel Cake II

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • powder sugar
  • 2/3 cups of milk
  • 1 1/4 cup of self rising flour
  • oil to fry in

Directions

Heat oil over med heat in cast iron or any fry pan.

Mix all the ingredients together, except powder sugar & oil, beat until the mixture turns smooth.

You need to use a squeeze bottle or funnel to pour the batter into the hot oil. Pour or squeeze the mixture from the center towards the outer side. When the mixture turns golden brown and crispy enough, you can remove it from the oil to a plate. Sprinkle powdered sugar over it, serve warm.

Funnel Cake

Funnel cakes are so easy to make and remind me of the days when I used to take my 4 children to the Fair. We all loved the funnel cakes.

Ingredients:

  • pancake mix (I use the kind where you only add water)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • oil

Directions:

Mix pancake mix according to directions. You don't want it too thin. I like medium mixture. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Heat oil in frying pan (about 2 inches). Add mixture to funnel. Once you take your finger off the end of the funnel, make a circle for the outer edge. Add lines of mixture (leaving spaces between). Fry until golden brown. Yummy!
