Hi, I have very hard water as well. I had recently found this stuff called Yellow Out at Safeway. It's $6.00 but it is amazing! My whites are white again and even my white turned yellow clothes have turned white again. You just put half a cup in the washer and fill washer with hot water and let the clothes soak for 15-20min then add detergent and do the load like usual. It is really amazing!

Put a generous amt. bar keepers friend scouring powder in with your detergent. Wrks great!

Have you tried the old standby bluing? Comes in a bottle usually in the laundry/detergent section-
One other thing I've noticed-- chlorine bleach appears to yellow some synthetics-- i.e. men's jockey shorts and t-shirts with synthetic yarns ( cotton-polyester, etc.)-- so you need to use a non-chlorine bleach-- which may or maynot "fix" the yellow at this time.
good luck
