  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 tsp. (heaping) flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup half and half cream
  • Salt and cinnamon
  • 4-5 apples (peeled, shred or slice in salad shooter)

Directions:

Mix sugar and flour. Add half and half cream, pinch of salt. Put apples into unbaked shell and pour mixture on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until pie is set. This is especially good with fresh apples.

Apple Cream Pie

I had a craving for something with apples and cream cheese, and this is what I came up with. It was a big hit with the family and got the "Definite Do Again!" rating from my hubby. Sorry there's no photo, it disappeared too fast!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg. of Knox plain gelatin
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg cream cheese at room temp
  • 4 oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 8 oz. non-dairy whipped topping
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • 1 graham cracker pie crust

Directions:

Add two tablespoons water to the gelatin to "bloom" bloom for 5 minutes or so. Whip the cream cheese and condensed milk. Add the softened gelatin, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and mix well. Fold in half of the whipped topping.

Pour half of the mixture into the pie shell. Add canned apples for second layer, then pour remaining mixture in. Top with remaining whipped topping. Chill for 3 hours.

Servings: 8
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
