Cantaloupe Sorbet

This is a cool refreshing summer treat. It isn't too sweet and makes good use of cantaloupe seasonal sales! No cholesterol.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cantaloupe, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together and stir well. Place in your ice cream freezer, following the freezer's directions. I have the traditional ice cream freezer and a Deni freezer, which requires no ice or salt. Since this makes a small batch, I would suggest doubling it for a larger freezer.

We like to double the recipe and have the "mix" in the fridge. Then, we can have soft-serve sorbet multiple days in a row! It is good coming from the freezer or having soft serve.

Servings: 3 cups

Source: I clipped this from a women's magazine many years ago, and the clipping doesn't have any source identification on it.
