Mark Your Gas Cap With Your Address

Tape or affix an address label to your gas cap so that it may be returned if left at the gas station accidentally.

Phone number is a good idea. I worry about this every time I stop to get gasoline. Some car models used to have the cap attached to the tank with a chain. And the new models probably have a sensor that goes off if the cap isn't on when you re-start the car.

I was just going to post something similar to momsfrommissouri.

Don't put your home address on it -- if you want, put your phone number on the cap (on the INSIDE of the cap of course)

A new cap only costs a couple of dollars to replace, but your safety is priceless and irreplaceable.

As a former service station owner, I think you would be better off to just leave a phone number on the cap.

Most service station owners would not take it to you, but would call you.

Also, its a safety feature. Its better to get a call and come retrieve it, then letting someone you don't know come to your home, as you don't know what type of person may show up. If you left it after they witnessed someone with nice jewerly, or with a nice car leave it, it could be trouble. Esp. for a single woman or an older person. Lots of creeps out there today.
