Safari Binoculars
You and children of any age can make these simple binoculars with just some toilet paper rolls, green/brown/black crayons and markers, stapler, a hole punch and yarn.

Items Needed:

  • Two Toilet Paper Rolls
  • Green/Brown/Black Crayons and Markers
  • Stapler
  • Single Hole Punch and Yarn

Safari Binoculars

Instructions:

Step 1: Give each child two toilet paper rolls.

Step 2: Punch one hole in each toilet paper roll.

Step 3: Staple the two rolls together with the punched holes facing out.

Step 4: Color the rolls different colors of green, brown and black all over.

Step 5: Tie a piece of yarn large enough to wear around your neck through the holes.

A very simple craft for even the youngest child.

Be careful when using toilet paper rolls. Make sure who ever is removing the rolls in the bathroom has washed their hands. If they arent, these rolls may contain bacteria that you would not want a child playing with, especially putting on their face!

These are cute!! We camp with little ones and they don't understand how to use our binoculars, so we just might have to try this out for our next outing!!
Thanks for the idea!!!

These are cute, but it seems that it would be better to use a good glue to hold the two rolls together. Sometimes you can catch your fingers on the ends of a staple -- I have cut myself plenty of times at work. If you use a staple to fasten together make sure ends are INSIDE of the rolls, as far from end as possible, and make certain the ends of the staple are pressed in so there is no danger.
