Due to bulk, as rehatterb pointed out, I'd think you'd need to attach a patch pocket. Like the pockets on the front of a button down shirt.

As tight as leggings fit, I would think pockets would make them look bulky in areas where you don't want bulk, plus take away from the general appearance of the leggings.
