Cabbage Go Round

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck, lean
  • 1 head cabbage, cut up and wilted in boiling water for 5 minutes
  • 1/4-1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup Minute rice
  • 1 can tomato soup or tomato sauce
  • salt and pepper

Directions

Layer ground beef, onion, salt and pepper and cabbage. Repeat layers. Top with tomato sauce or tomato soup. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

This recipe, as printed, is rather bland. Kick it up a notch by substituting chili sauce for some of the soup, adding garlic, thyme, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, nutmeg and hot sauce. You'll be amazed at how great it can taste with these additions.
