How can I get hardened sugar out of a cannister?

Place a small piece of banana peel in with candy, for 2-3 days this works to soften brn. sugar also. 1-2 days

Try adding a few slices of bread or apples to your canister, put the lid back on and wait at least overnight, if not a day or two, then change pieces until your sugar is soft again. You can also soak a piece of terra cotta pottery (unglazed) in water for 15 minutes and add to the canister for 24 hours, then resoak and start over again until your sugar is softened again. If your container can take it, pour boiling hot water into to container and wait for the sugar to melt to liquid state, then rinse it and can be ready for reuse. It works every time for me. Good Luck :>)
