Supplies:

  • card stock
  • coordinating decorative papers
  • adhesive
  • toothpick
  • rubber stamps
  • rhinestones
  • paper piercing tool is helpful (or a pin)
  • tiny brads

Instructions:

  1. Cut your cardstock to the desired size (standard card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches).
  2. Cut the decorative paper slightly smaller (I cut it 1/4-1/2 inch smaller) and adhere to card front.
  3. To create the pinwheel, practice with a Post It note if these directions confuse you.
  4. Cut a 3x3 inch piece of double sided paper.
  5. Cut each corner of the 3x3 piece diagonally toward the middle, but do not cut all the way through.
  6. Cutting template for pinwheel carc.

  7. Pierce a hole in the center of the paper and at every other corner.
  8. Affix the brad, tines pointing upward in the center hole.
  9. Place one corner on the brad and working clockwise until you have secured all 4 corners on the brad. (You should now have a pinwheel!). Open brad to secure.

  11. Decorate to cover the brad tines. (The top of the brad will be on the back of the pinwheel.)
  12. Fix pinwheel to front of card, add a toothpick for the stick and use a rubber stamp for your greeting. Viola!

Great card. Thanks for posting the info. I think the pinwheel idea can be used for a man, woman or child's card.
