To keep my toy chihuahua smelling good in between her baths , I rub her down with a baby wipe. She will smell so good after that, and her skin will not be dried out from bathing to often.
I have a white maltese terrier and he is forever getting dirty. I didn't like the smell nor the harmful ingredients in the "doggy wipes or even the baby wipes" (read the label, you will be shocked). I started using an earth friendly fabric softener(Walmart has a great one) mixed with water in a spray bottle and an old wash cloth. Now when he comes in from out side, I wipe him down with the cloth, cleaning and freshening his coat. I have not found any bad reactions yet and he doesn't smell chemically. There by not having to buy nor put more trash in landfills. A caution- I wouldn't do this with reg fabric softeners- they has very harmful chemicals that need to be washed out and are not appropriate for putting on dogs coats. --Scarlett from MD

I keep baby wipes in my "Penny Bag" in the car to wipe my dog's feet after potty breaks. I don't want that wet sand and dirt on my car seats! To paraphrase" Wipes just aren't for babies anymore!"
