When keeping lizards, they need a lot of heat, light and a lot of space. You should feed them every night: crickets, meal worms, woodies; blue tongues love snails. Lizards also would love to have a log or any type of stick. If they are a water type lizard, then they would need some water in their tank.

Since our lawn/garden is a large corner lot, near a street light, and Zeriscaped/Organic, we keep all of our lizards OUTSIDE, free-roaming, who seem to be truly happy and at home. We keep a birdbath top filled with fresh water when no rain, on the ground, and seldom see any sort of pest because they keep most everything cleaned for us, except the mosquitoes. There are at least five varities of lizards, Geckos, and Salamanders all around the yard, seemingly getting along with each other.
They surely get their fill and are still growing. God bless you for the information should we ever put one in an aquarium. : )
