Here is one I've had for many years, called The Next Best Thing to Robert Redford
crust: Mix and press into oblong pan: 1 cup flour 2 Tbs sugar 1 stick melted butter Then sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped nuts over crust and press into dough. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees (burns easily), then cool 1st layer: Mix and spread on crust: 1 8 oz pkg cream cheese 1 cup sugar 1/2 lb cool whip Allow this to set up and proceed to layer 2 2nd layer: Mix 1 box vanilla instant pudding with 2 cups milk. Spread this over cream cheese layer and allow to set up. Proceed to layer 3. 3rd layer: Same as layer 2, using chocolate pudding, let set up. Then spread rest of cool whip on top and sprinkle shaved chocolate or coconut on top.
I think this recipe is also called "Pastor's Delight."
Sometimes a recipe NAME becomes popular and people attach that to their (totally different) recipe. Like the one for "Girdle Busters" which has a whole range of different recipes.
