If you chose Old Salem, right close to there is Tanglewood, in Clemmons and they have a show w/ the lights every year that is incredible! You drive through and the displays are awesome!

You might try the Victoria House in East Bend which is beautifully decorated and provides a fantastic lunch.

Thanks for the responses. I have been both to Old Salem and Biltmore, just not around Christmas. Are the prices higher for the holiday? What else do these places do for Christmas?

You should try to visit Old Salem (in Winston-Salem). It is a restored Moravian village and very interesting. Don't miss the bakery!
Biltmore House (in Asheville) is very lovely when decorated for Christmas. They also have a Gingerbread House competition that is fun to see.
