I am planning a college graduation for my husband. He is majoring in entomology (insects) and I need ideas for centerpieces without creeping the guests out! The party is being held in a small local restaurant. Thanks!

you might still find some oversized fake halloween spiders, etc on sale at some grocery stores, etc

You could purchase green plants for the centerpieces and add small garden or plant stakes with bugs on them. I see dragonfiles and lady bugs often. Have fun, kudos to your hubby!

Matbe you can find a cake decorator that can make a cake with cartoon insects. I know that on the food channel they can make nearly anything out of marzipan. Good luck.

Although it may not be his chosen area of entomology, decorate with the "pretty" insects: butterflies/moths, ladybugs, dragonflies, lightning bugs, etc.
