Cookies N Cream Truffles

These are truly delicious and everyone will love them! They are the perfect for a gift or to just treat yourself.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag Oreos (can use cheaper store brand)
  • 1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese
  • 8 oz chocolate. You can do these with white chocolate if you like it better.

Directions:

  1. Line a cookie sheet and spray lightly with cooking spray.

  2. Set aside 6 cookies, finely crush the rest. Can use blender, or put in baggie and with rolling pin, finely crush the rest.
  3. Add softened (room temperature) cream cheese and mix well with cookie crumbs.
  4. Place mixture in the refrigerator until firm (about 45 minutes).

  5. Form into 1 inch balls using your hands (refrigerate when done).

  6. Chop the remaining cookies into small chunks.
  7. Melt the 8 oz of chocolate making sure not to burn it; stir often until melted.
  8. Dip the balls in melted chocolate and place on the baking sheet, top with piece of the cookie chunk. Refrigerate about 1 hour.

Tip: Cookies N Cream Truffles

Ingredients

  • 1 - 16 oz. package chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1 - 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 lb. vanilla-flavored candy coating / almond bark

Directions

Crush cookies using a food processor or blender. Add crushed cookies to softened cream cheese and blend thoroughly. Roll into 1-inch balls and place 1 inch apart into a wax-papered 9x13 inch pan, layering when needed. Freeze for a few hours. Break up vanilla-flavored candy coating and place in glass dish. Using a fondue fork or small fork, dip cookie balls into candy coating. Place onto wax paper and let harden. Store in refrigerator and serve at room temperature.

Makes approximately 70 truffles. Can use other flavors of cookies and/or bark as well

I made this at christmas with my two neices, Skylar 11 and Sophie 9. It was messy but so fun and the results were wonderful. This has been added to our annual christmas candy list. (01/12/2007)
