Teriyaki Marinade

This may be used to marinate both steaks, chicken, and kabobs. It contains an acid ingredient for tenderizing so they may be used on less tender steaks. To get the full benefit, marinate overnight. This costs approximately 1/4 the cost of manufactured marinades.

Ingredients:

 • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
 • 1/4 cup soy sauce
 • 1/4 cup honey
 • 2 Tbs. vinegar
 • 2 Tbs. minced green onions
 • 2 cloves minced garlic
 • 1 Tbs. grated ginger root
 • dash of pepper

Directions:

Mix all ingredients. Pierce meat with a fork in many places to allow marinade to penetrate. Place meat in ziploc bag or shallow dish. Cover and refrigerate. I sometimes marinate the meat for 2 days. A chuck steak would do well with the longer marinating time. Excellent flavor!

Should there be "teriyaki sauce" in this recipe?

Editor's Note: This recipe is for what you would call a teriyaki sauce.

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! Besides saving money the ingredients are much more healthy than the additives in store bought marinade! Thumbs up!
