Kol Dolmer I

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. of turkey burger
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup raw rice
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup flour

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix turkey burger, salt, sugar, and onion. Set aside. Boil rice and add to mixture. Wilt cabbage leaves by placing into boiling water. Now take 1 Tbsp. full of mixture and place in middle of cabbage leaf. Roll leaf into a ball. Place balls into baking pan. Dot each ball with butter. Add 1 cup of hot water. Place into oven for 40 minutes. Remove turn over balls bake another 20 minutes. In small pan cook milk and flour, season with a pinch of salt. Pour over balls and serve.

Kol Dolmer II

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 small diced onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 head cabbage pulled apart
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 cup milk

Directions

Boil rice. Combine next 6 ingredients with cooked rice. Take cabbage and place in boiling water until it wilts. Place some mixture into leaf. Roll into a tight ball. Repeat until cabbage or mix runs out. Place balls into casserole dish. Dab each ball with butter. Place 1 cup hot water into casserole dish. Put into oven at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes, turn over cook another 20 minutes. Heat milk and pour over balls.
