Removing Water Stain from Chair |

I left a wet t-shirt on an old wooden chair that is very special to my parents. I woke up the next morning to find a yellow, damp stain on the chair. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

I had a very bad water stain and I finally got it out with cigarette ash and cooking oil. I think I would try just using a good wood cleaner, then try the above.
