Do you save those used zip lock bags? I often have several and rinse them out and let them dry.

Then take an 2-3 pound coffee can and line it with your used ziplock bag. Use the coffee can lid to keep odors in and fill it until the bag is full, then just pull it out and zip it up and toss. No mess, no fuss and certainly no smell.

Instead of throwing out those large plastic laundry detergent containers, rinse them thoroughly, (use suds from rinsing in laundry load.) Cut off the top of the container and throw away. I keep the lids for the kids to play with and to measure detergent, etc.
Then use the bottom 2/3 of the container for trash on counter in bath or kitchen.
I use my cutoff detergent bottles to store the toilet bowl brush beside the commode.

That is a good idea. Usually I use empty coffee cans to hold grease. I like to use an empty gal milk jug, with top cut off and handle left as a little garbage can near the sink. Sometimes I line it and sometimes not....usually I have bread bags or the plastic bags you take your produce home in from the store and both fit nicely in the milk jug.

For years my mother in law has used empty clean coffee cans to hold her Christmas cookies in. I think she even puts in the freezer in the cans cuz she bakes her cookies ahead.

Another container I have used for years is a bleach bottle with the very top cut off. I use what ever bags I have I always have a roll of 4 gallon trash can liners incase I don't have angthing to reuse.
