Warm Up Your Brain With Sudoku Before Studying

I accidentally discovered that if I 'warm up' my brain by doing 1 or 2 sudoku puzzles before studying math, the lesson seems easier and sticks in my brain better.
Wish I'd discovered this a long time ago.

They might prefer other types of thinking games, like crosswords...
My guess is that it gets you thinking and this is what helps.
If I don't do it before math class, I can tell the difference. This is not a reflection on the teacher - she's a nice person and keeps it lively.
