I have the WORST feet! Does anyone have suggestions on keeping then callous free, soft and smooth? I sure would appreciate it. I have decided I don't want to wear polish. I am looking for a totally natural look.

RE: Foot Care
All my childhood I went barefoot wherever possible & I had the tough callouses to prove it. Even the big green stickers did not stick in my feet. I could walk on the blacktop in summer & never feel the heat. My feet had deep cracks all the dirt imbedded in them & they split & were so sore it hurt to walk. I would soak my feet in warm soapy water, scrub clean as I could & then work with a disposable razor. Sometimes I would cut too much & they would hurt even more. *Never use liquid bleach, it 'burns' the skin, turns yellow, peels off & make them drier. I finally found the secret- REALLY- I went to work & wore closed in shoes all day. I still had to soften my feet but used only the emery tyoe foot file while still damp after the shower & later when completely dry for a final smoothing. These best lotion I found was by Kamasutra honey almond massage cream, in a jar. It works overnight! Also going barefoot really dries then out badly. I now only need to do my feet with a foot file once a month & don't even use ltion often. ALSO the PedEgg works great, but be careful not to over do & the file car 'burn' you if you overdo it. ENJOY!

After a nice warm foot soak! Use a emery board to remove some of the callus and then apply Flexitol Heel Balm. Works Great! Do this on a regular basis and you will find that your feet will be smooth like a babies bottom. Good LucK! It can be purchased at WalMart. I also use a product called Hoofmaker - mane and tail, purchased at a place that sells things for horses, Yes, it is for us humans and is a great moisturizer.

I had a doctor who told me to use Abolene on my feet every night, and cover with socks. You won't believe the difference!

Also have totally "crappy" feet and have tried many products. Best so far is Miracle Foot Repair- Miracle of Aloe, purchased at Walgreen's in Florida. Website on tube - ontelproducts.com. probably could locate a local store for you.

I belong to FlyLady's website. She talks about having diabetes & bad feet & swears that once she started wearing shoes most of the time, the condition of her feet improved dramatically. No running around all day barefoot on goddness knows what & bumping, bruising, you get the picture... Said the callouses, etc. disappeared or at least got much better. So, after or in addition to the other suggestions, maybe you want to give shoes a try, unless you do that already. Just a thought.

1. Use pumice or a foot file and file off as much of the callous as possible. There are electric ones that may be helpful if the chore is too great. Remember to file in one direction only, no up and down moves! Up and down will mess up the surface of the skin and make it prone to crack later on. 2. At night, rub on some Kerasal Exfoliating Moisturizer into the calloused areas before bed. 3. Every day when you shower, use a foot file. That way there isn't too much buildup to take care of at one time. 4. If the situation is this built up, you need daily, not weekly attention to the problem.

Treat yourself to a pedicure at Walmart. It is not very expensive about $20.00 and you don't have to have nail polish.
Try this about once a month or more often if you can afford it. This will really get you off on the right foot (no pun intended) and make you feel pampered too.

I have been using the Mary Kay Timewise facial bar and a rough wash cloth/loofah. You'll want to get your feet wet, like towards the end of your shower and then remove them from the stream to wash (the bar will melt quickly). Just rub the bar across your foot and scrub with the loofah. I can't believe how soft my feet are!

RE: Foot Care
I use a plumice stone in the bath but when the feet are dry there is a soft one almost like the soft nail files that comes in a block. I use it to sand the feet and heels. I use Berts Beas (you get at health food stores and places like that) for the feet and wear cotton footies to bed. Oh so nice and soft... For toenails fungus we us vicks vapor rub and cover at night with footies. Makes the ole tooties feel so good to pamper them.

RE: Foot Care
I use to have calluses real bad too til I went to the doctor for it cause mine got very painful. He suggested to me and I do this every time I take a bath. Soak your feet and then rub them with a pumice stone, works wonders. I also have foot lotion I put on them before going to bed and they are callus free and feel so good now. I too quit wearing colored polish but I do put clear on and it looks natural and pretty. I also quit going barefoot outside, which the doctor says wil break down the arches over time. Hope this helps ya!
