Simmer the water, brown sugar, and instant coffee for 30 minutes, then add the vanilla flavoring and vodka. Pour into pretty glass bottles and decorate with colorful holiday ribbons and tags.
Tastes very good in coffee or serve however you would Kahlua. This is best stored for 30 days, so make it now for Christmas gift giving. :)

I don't have patience to wait for a month or so to drink this, so I came up with my own same, but different, Kahlúa recipe.
Kahlúa
1 cup water
¾ cup sugar
2 T. instant coffee
3 T. vanilla
Fifth of vodka
Combine the water and sugar in a pan and bring to a boil to dissolve the sugar. Take off the heat and all it to cool. Add the instant coffee and the vanilla and stir to combine. Pour in the vodka and enjoy!
Here is my favorite way to enjoy the Kahlúa:
Ice in a small glass 1 jigger of Kahlúa fill to the top with fat free vanilla creamer MMMMMM!!
My friend uses whiskey instead of the vodka, but I don't like whiskey so I use vodka. I think vanilla vodka would be good in this also, but you'd have to adjust the amount of vanilla you add to the recipe.
The kahlua will keep for a long time in your pantry. (Usually it is all used up in a short amount of time though. ;)
Bring water to a boil. Add vanilla bean and sugar. Let dissolve. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add salt and instant coffee. Let cool completely. Add vodka. Seal it don't drink for 30 days.
