Dude, as another guy who grows his hair long, take my advice. I grew my bangs out long to get the scene/emo look. To get your hair longer, use mane n tail shampoo. People say it doesn't work but forget them, it works. Omega 3 vitamins help (but can result in gaseous results XD) and keeping it healthy by letting it air dry. Shampooing it every day can dry it out, so do this every other day and condition every day.
Thus, keeping it healthier. Massaging the scalp really helps as everyone says: Increased blood flow will help. Getting a trim to get rid of damaged hair is one of the best things that help, stop the damage before it gets all the way down to your roots. Following these steps will help you greatly and I hope you get that sweet long hair soon.

RE: Growing Hair Quickly
Vitamins, drink water everyday, and eat healthy. I noticed all the brushing only makes my hair fall out faster than it should and would you know it, no growth. Brushing does not make it grow faster. It takes at least 30-90 days to see vitamin improvement. The only thing that works is patience. And I agree, guys should not have long hair.

RE: Growing Hair Quickly
Try vitamins and horsetail extract and Shampoo /cond that contains horsetail. My hair grows faster than normal when I use Mane 'n Tail.

RE: Growing Hair Quickly
Exercising usually increases my hair growth. It's weird but it seems to honestly work.

Very ambitious of you! Like someone else posted it does take time to grow hair and extensions might be an option, although very expensive. I have great hair genes and mine grows really fast. I do stimulate the hair folicle daily by brushing in the opposite direction (flip head over, brush back to front) and stimulate the scalp with an olive oil & peppermint or rosemary extracts (shampoo after). Hope that helps.

Please remember to get very slignt "trims" to keep your hair from getting uneven and also split ends. Lots of people think if they're trying to grow their hair out they shouldn't cut it. You'll look much nicer if you get a trim every 4-5 weeks while it's still short, every 6-8 weeks once it's longer. Tell your stylist what kind of look you're trying to get to and they'll be able to shape your hair the appropriate way.

I agree that you can't grow your hair more than about 1/2" by early October. On the other hand, if your hair has any curl, you may be able to make it look a bit longer by putting a styling product in your damp hair, combing it out straight, and letting it air dry. I should add that I personally prefer guys with short hair!

Sorry, but nothing you eat or do to your hair will help. Half an inch per month is the rate for all of us except slower for those who are malnourished or very stressed, such as late pregnancy.

There are many kinds of fairly inexpensive fake hair items that you can use. Something called a "fall" can be attached to your real hair on the back of your head and blend in fairly well. I wore one for a few months like that and it was easy to put on, and it looked good.

RE: Growing Hair Quickly
Hi ??? I'm afraid you're going to be very disappointed with this answer. Hair only grows about a half inch per month. It would take you 6 to 12 months to grow your hair 3 to 6 inches longer. Why do you need your hair to be so long by October? There are hair styling salons that can put extensions in but I think that's pretty expensive to do.
