Here's an easy way to remove the skin of an orange prior to using the orange in sections for a recipe. Bring about 6 cups of water to boil in a small pan. Ever so slowly, with an orange in a large soup ladle, lower it into the pan.

After about 20 seconds remove the orange with the ladle and when it is cool enough to handle start peeling the skin. You will be amazed at how easy it comes off.

Happy skinning.

A few years ago Tupperware gave out free orange peelers as gifts. They work excellent.

I just roll the oranges or any other thin skinned citrus around on the bench/table etc and the skin comes off real well.
Also if I want juice then I put the orange in the microwave for about 30sec to a minute and you get a lot of juice from the orange/ lemon/ lime.

Do you boil and peel the oranges before or after you grate the rind?
