Critter Crunch I

Ingredients

  • 1 cup animal crackers
  • 1 cup teddy bear-shaped chocolate or honey-flavored graham crackers
  • 1 cup miniature pretzel twists
  • 1 cup yogurt-covered raisins
  • 1 cup candy-coated chocolate candies
  • Colorful ice-cream cones, if desired

Directions

Mix all ingredients except ice-cream cones. Serve snack in cones. Store in covered container.

Note: Great-tasting, fun-to-eat Critter Crunch is easy enough for kids to make. They can mix it up to a month ahead of time and store it in a covered container or zippered plastic bag.

Makes 10 servings (1/2 cup each)

Critter Crunch II

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. stick margarine
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup animal shaped crackers
  • 1 1/2 cup corn-rice cereal squares
  • 1 cup pretzels, tiny and unsalted
  • 1 1/2 cup honey-flavored bear-shaped graham crackers
  • 1 1/2 cup whole grain toasted oat cereal
  • 1 cup whole wheat cereal biscuits with raisins, bite size

Directions

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and margarine. Microwave on high for 1 minute or until the margarine melts and the sugar dissolves. Stir in the cinnamon. Combine the animal crackers, corn-rice cereal squares, pretzels, graham crackers, oat cereal and wheat cereal biscuits. Spread in a 9x13 pan and drizzle with the margarine mixture. Toss gently to coat. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes, stirring every 5-7 minutes. Cool completely and store in an airtight container. Makes 7 cups.
