Creamy Sausage Spaghetti Bolognese

Take your Bolognese up a level by adding Italian sausage, Parmesan cheese, and cream to the pot. Just a few tweaks to your usual meat sauce recipe can make something truly extraordinary!

  1. Heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions, carrots, and celery. Cook until softened, about 10 minutes, then add garlic.
  2. Add the beef and the sausage. Break up into bits. Add a bit of salt and pepper.

  4. When meat has browned, add tomato paste and Italian seasoning. Stir and cook until fragrant, about a minute or two.
  5. Stir in crushed tomato, beef broth, and add the bay leaves. Raise heat to high until it's boiling, then bring to a low simmer. Cover and cook for at least 30 minutes. The longer it simmers, the more the flavours will develop.
  6. Stir in Parmesan and heavy cream. Add salt and pepper if necessary. Serve immediately on a bed of pasta.
