My 8 & 9 year old grandchildren love board games! Chutes and Ladders, Checkers, Sorry, as well as card games like Fish, Snap, and Old Maid.
Bingo. You can even make your own bingo game to adapt it for different ages. I made ones with pictures on it of fruit, veggies, animals and such when my girls were very little.
Kids this age tend to be on too many electronics. Gather several favorite board games like Life, Chinese Checkers, or card games like Uno.
Card games. I also like battleship, scrabble and monopoly
