I love having Caprese appetizer cold on a cracker until I tried grilling it on French bread slices. Wow!
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- sliced mozzarella cheese
- 4 plum tomatoes, sliced
- fresh basil
- seasoned oil and vinegar
Steps:
- Slice French bread.
- Melt butter with garlic powder and pepper. Brush butter over each slice.
- Put under the broiler until golden brown.
- Place a tomato slice, a basil leaf and a dash of oil and vinegar; then a slice of mozzarella.
- Put under the broiler until golden brown and melted.
