Identifying a Tiny Black Bug?

A tiny black bug on a paper towel.I've had these tiny black bugs for approximately 3 years now. They are everywhere in my apartment. For example; my clothing, my food, in my refrigerator, just everywhere. Now they're on my body and scalp and even up my nostrils. I've pulled them out with tweezers from my nostrils. I've tried every chemical there is, nothing seems to kill them, they seem to be immortal.

I've also tried vinegar, boric acid, turpentine, peppermint oil, tea tree oil, just everything. They don't die, they seem just to reproduce and I have an infestation of them of them. I know they're not bed bugs or even fleas or ticks.

Please help I don't know what else to do I'm literally going insane and depressed. I have no company come over whatsoever. I do not even have a significant other because I'm so embarrassed of this problem I just keep to myself. Now lately I have been feeling sick cold chills extremes bad sinus pressure headaches no energy nauseated to the point that I don't even want to eat anything in my kitchen because it grosses me out. I'm thinking from the same bugs. Please help please

I'm sorry but your pictures are not good enough to properly identify this bug.
Were these bugs in your apartment when you first moved in?
I cannot imagine how anyone could live with this type of problem for such a long period of time.
Have you discussed this problem with your landlord?
Do they have an exterminator take care of the apartments on a regular basis?
You really have to talk to your landlord before going any further as they are usually responsible for handling this type of problem.

If, for some reason, the landlord will not take care of this you may have to seek legal aid in making them do something as this is unsafe for you to continue living with this.
Usually, Family Services in your area will help find free or affordable legal aid if you cannot afford an attorney.

If you wish to still try and find a solution, you can take several bugs in a jar or baggies to an Ace or True Value hardware store and ask them for help.

You can also ask your County Extention Service for help but you will need better pictures of the bugs.

Sorry, but pictures of bites will not help identify the bug.
I'm very sorry you are having such debilitating problems.

They're gnats, I do believe they get into your nose or mouth but they are not in your skin, they may be on but not in. If you don't have food or fruit laying out, it is probably some sort of smell that is attracting them.

Do you see many gather in certain areas like a sink or a drain? The trash?

I think you have Biting Midges, also known as sandflies and no-see-ums. There are some varieties that bite. Only female midges bite. Their bites cause a burning sensation, and soon, a small red welt appears at the bite site (you scratch it). Some reactions to midge bites can be severe. You should make sure to avoid scratching as it can make the wound worse.

When you get midges in the home, they can be difficult to get rid of.
Set up DIY traps
Use sticky tape around your home
Put potted midge-repelling potted plants (see the previous section above for plants that repel midges).
Hang up clothing soaked in essential oils
Spray them directly with DIY midge spray
Smack them manually
Turn off lights that youre not using or dim them
Set up natural repellents to keep them out of your home

DIY midge spray:
mix 1 cup of distilled water (must be distilled),
Citronella oil (3 tablespoons),
2 cups vinegar,
Eucalyptus oil (1 tablespoon),
Lemongrass oil (3 tablespoons).
And spray it.

You should tell the landlord. You are supposed to have a safe place to live. Do others in your apartment building have the same problem?

If I were you I would get an exterminator and deduct it from the rent if the landlord will not take care of it.

You should also report it to the department of health.
