Kids' Award Medals - finished medals Do you have little kids at home that you are now homeschooling as well? To spice it up and make outdoor activities fun you could make obstacle courses/games for free time, PE time, and outdoor time. And, to make it more fun, I made these award "medals" for them from plastic coffee lids, some paint, stickers, and ribbon.

Total Time: 15 minutes + drying time

Supplies:

plastic coffee lid
acrylic paint + paintbrush
stickers
glue stick
ribbon
scissors
construction paper number (or stickers)

Steps:

Paint your plastic coffee lid with a color of your choice. Since I'm making this as a "gold medal", I painted the lids yellow. Allow to dry.

Determine if you want to do 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, etc - depending how many kids you have. But I just made both 1st place. They'll just be 1st place since the course will be by age group and they're different ages to make it simple. :) I had scrapbook paper with 1s on it so I cut those out and glued them down. If you don't have scrapbook paper with numbers, you can print your own, find numbers in a magazine, use stickers, paint numbers, or draw the numbers out with a Sharpie/marker.

Optional - Decorate the medal. I used assorted star stickers.

Cut ribbon, thread through the hole, and knot. (Be sure to make the ribbon longer than usual so your child can pull it over their head easily as well as take it off easily). This award medal could also double as an indoor play pretend accessory prop.
