Yes, I know it sounds crazy to buy two jars of maraschino cherries just for the juice but you can garnish this beverage with some of those cherries and use the rest to make cherry cobbler, make cherry cookies, use in fruit salads, or dehydrate for snacks. In case you don't want to pay store prices for these cherries, there are oodles of good recipes on the net to make your own ;-)

  • 1 (12 oz.) can limeade frozen concentrate
  • 1 (2 liter) bottle 7-Up
  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • juice of 2 (10 oz.) jars maraschino cherries

Mix ingredients, chill, and serve.

I love the Limeade drinks from Sonic Drive-In and was glad to find this recipe.

Squeeze limes, if using, over fine mesh strainer into measuring cup; discard pulp (I don't want to do this so I just buy some lime juice!)

In large pitcher add the lime juice, sweetener, and cold water. Stir.

Add lime slices.

Pour into chilled glasses over ice.

Variation: Use lemon juice instead of lime juice and use sliced lemon in place of the lime.

My Hint: For a yummy change, add some Maraschino cherry juice to each glass of limeade and a cherry or two and you have a Cherry Limeade similar to the ones at Sonic Drive-In. They are delicious!
