Straw Space Rocket - ready to launchTry this fun indoor craft activity for your toddler to play with especially on a rainy day. This could also be a great party favor. It is easy to make, affordable, and will be lots of fun for your toddler, especially if playing with friends/sibling(s).

Total Time: 15 minutes

Supplies:

  • paper straw(s)
  • construction paper
  • glue stick
  • tape
  • scissors
Straw Space Rocket - supplies
 

Steps:

  1. Cut out shapes to resemble a space rocket (rocket ship body, wings, circle, and you will also need a rectangular piece).
    2. Straw Space Rocket - cut out parts of the rocket
     
  2. Tape/glue your rocket together.
    3. Straw Space Rocket - adding fins to body of rocket on back

    Straw Space Rocket - add circular window
     
  3. Wrap your rectangular piece around your straw as pictured and tape.
    4. Straw Space Rocket - wrap the paper rectangle around the straw and tape
     
    Straw Space Rocket - taped in place
     
  4. Then fold the top over and tape like pictured.
    5. Straw Space Rocket - fold top over and tape again

  5. Glue/tape space rocket to your straw (launcher). Then your child will blow the straw and the rocket will launch!
    6. Straw Space Rocket - tape or glue the launcher to the back of the rocket
