Making a Push Pin Travel Map
It can be a lot of fun to have a map where you mark all of the places you have traveled. Using an inexpensive map mounted to foam board, you can mark your travels with pins and even add little strips of paper with the date that you went there.

Push pin travel maps are quite expensive, ranging from $30-$100s or more depending on the style/quality.
You can make your own for less than $10! This makes a great, thoughtful, and inexpensive gift for someone who enjoys traveling, or for yourself/family. I made this gift awhile ago and you can see the map in use.
Total Time: 15 minutes
- foam poster board
- ball point push pins
- strips of paper
- Measure your map on a poster board 2 times, and cut out 2 pieces. This is so when you use your ball point push pins it'll stay in place.
- Glue 2 poster board pieces together.
- Glue map onto the poster board. I bought the map from Paper Source, the version I bought is no longer available, but here is the next best: https://www.papersource.com/gift-wrap/world-map-flat-wrap-405848.html only $5.95!
- You can either use ball point push pins to mark where you've been and leave it as that. Or, write/type onto Microsoft and print out dates and cut out. Fold printed dates over and secure the inside with a little tape or glue leaving enough room to poke the push pin in.
