Toddler Birthday Sash - finished sash with 4 hearts strung on purple ribbonMy little cousin's 4th birthday is this week. She has a crown her mom bought her, but she wanted a sash to go with her crown. Since it was last minute, I used some items I had at home to create her this quick and easy little sash she can wear to school with her crown.

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 1 sash

Supplies:

  • ribbon
  • craft paper
  • heart punch out (or scissors to freehand a shape)
  • X-acto knife
Toddler Birthday Sash - supplies

Steps:

  1. Punch out heart shape on craft paper (or freehand some shapes).
  2. Using an X-acto knife - cut two slits enough to fit ribbon. Thread ribbon into the slits/hearts.
  3. Toddler Birthday Sash - use knife to cut two slits in the heart cut outs

Toddler Birthday Sash - thread the ribbon through the slits

  4. Repeat until you reach your desired amount, I had 4 hearts to recognize that she is turning 4! Then, secure the ends with a knot and cut an angle at the end to make the ribbon look neater.
  5. Toddler Birthday Sash - keep adding as many hearts as you like
